OUR APPROACH TO THERAPY

We specialize in trauma therapy and relationship counseling. We focus on working with adult survivors of childhood trauma, betrayal trauma, accidents, and various relationship issues, including codependency, boundary setting, and interdependence.

We also work with attachment-based insecurities, anxiety, depression, work-related stress, burnout, and unresolved past relationships. In our practice, we address issues related to limerence, obsessive-compulsive thoughts and behaviors, and open and ethical non-monogamous relationships.

Ola Abugharbiyeh, MA, MACP, RCC
Founder and Clinical Director

Ola is a Registered Clinical Counsellor specializing in trauma therapy and relationship counselling. She focuses on anxiety, depression and relationship challenges such as codependency, boundary setting, and betrayal trauma.

Along with over two decades of experience in mentorship, supervision, and clinical counselling, Ola holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Education, reflecting her deep commitment to both emotional and social well-being. Ola is certified in EMDR, AEDP, somatic experiencing, and strength-based approaches. She offers a compassionate, collaborative path to healing in English and Arabic.

Sogol Shams, Ph.D., RCC
Counsellor

Sogol is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Ph.D. in Psychology and over six years of experience working with adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and challenges related to immigration and cultural adjustment. She has supported clients through life transitions, identity struggles, and emotional difficulties by offering a compassionate and structured therapeutic environment.

Her practice draws primarily from Schema Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which help clients understand deep-rooted patterns and process emotional wounds. Sogol brings a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach to each session, honouring clients’ unique lived experiences and strengths. She is passionate about helping individuals build healthier relationships with themselves and others, gain clarity, and find new ways forward. Sogol provides therapy in both English and Farsi.
